šŸˆ Chucky Mullins Story

Yes, about a half hour south of where I grew up. Big football tradition that does back to coach Bill Doty in the mid to late 60's. The Tigers have had quite a few students go on to play college football and other sports. The football field is comparable to a Massillon Washington or Canton McKinley, very big.

I want to say that we were off that weekend when it happened. Coach Curry talked to us about it in the team meeting on Sunday. Very moving story. I recorded it so that my son can watch it. I forgot that Watson Brown was the HC at Vandy at the time. I remember the FB Gaines and the QB Gromos well. That pass was a staple in their offense.

Did you grow up in the Shoals area, Mike?

@bcracker Yes, I was raised in Florence. If you get a chance watch the documentary titled Muscle Shoals. Lots of good football players have come out of that area as well.

I was raised in Florence too, Northwood Hills subdivision off of Cloverdale Rd. Graduated Bradshaw High. I saw the documentary and loved it. The Donnie Fritts in the video is an uncle to my old fishing buddy.

@bcracker So you should know the names of many former Bruin players that played college ball from back in the day and some of the coach's:

Coach Frost
Coach Doty
Coach Horton
Ricky Tucker
Donnie Cook
Patrick Swoopes
Otis Boddie
David Brewer

Who am I missing?

My folks still live in Rivermont Subdivision out near Shoals Creek.

@rick4bama yes, a lot of players have come from NW Alabama.

@alabama mike Coach Frost was the principle when I was at Bradshaw. I liked him. Swoopes was one or two years ahead of me. I remember Tucker and Boddie, but I don't remember the others. I do remember Bradshaw not being that good when I was there.
