Within, it says that Norte Dame would join the Big12 but only if it played 3-4 conference games a year.

How could any team be justly considered for that conference championship if they only play 4 conference games? --- Thinking here of the push to have Conference Championships as a requirement playing for a national title?

Both Texas and OU don't want the Big12 to return to 12. They don't want a conference championship game. I see it as them trying to take the easy way out.

I would think that not having that extra game in the form of a Conference Championship game would all but ensure that the Big12 would perpetually be battling the ACC and that best non-Champion for that 4th spot in the Top 4 playoff.

I can't see the Big12 getting a spot at all if their champion boasts only four conference games.
