Cecil questions whether or not Saban gave JJ too many second chances for the purpose of trying to help the kid straighten his life out.
I agree with his conclusion - we don't know because we were not privy to everything, however Saban will probably never give anyone else that much rope.
I'll reserve judgment on Saban right now for the handling or non-handling of Jimmy Johns. Saban knew he was a problem child from the get-go. Was that reason enough to kick him off the team? I don't know. Saban knows much more than I do. Looking back I'm sure Saban might question it all as well.
Also I believe he had a soft spot for what the guys had gone through all the crap the last few years....just a thought. He(Saban) wants the best for all of the players but it is left up top them to take it and run with it.
Lol. I can see where some people would think hard about what Dave said but just because those players did not get in trouble while Shula was there does not mean that they were not trouble.
I like Dave Rader. He is a nice man whom I have met many times at church. His implication though, that this is somehow the current coaching staff's fault is just not true.
