[It Takes Eleven]

I have the State Funeral for Carter on in the background. I had to walk in and listen to the sons of Ford and Mondale read their fathers' eloquent tributes to Carter. President Ford's recollection on his trip to Cairo with Carter: I knew the trip over there was going to be awkward and long, but the trip back wasn't long enough.

The formality, honor and tribute of these events have a way of putting things aside, albeit temporarily. However, I'm listening to Amazing Grace from the other room and I had to walk in there to make sure it wasn't Miss Piggy.

Funny store here. It's about my wife, parents and sister coming to see us. We were living on Ft Benning. The following day I had gone to work. But when I got home that evening April told me that her parent and sister wasn't them. She didn't know where they were at. Her parents didn't wake her, and they took off to go to Plains, Ga. Well when they got to Plains, it was hard to get around. Because of the traffic in Plains, He told us no one saw the President but he knew he was there. Till the day he passed, he knew that the President was there. This in in 1977
