🏈 Can we discuss the elephantS in the corner of the room? The running back room of 2021.

Brian Robinson Jr.
Trey Sanders
Keilan Robinson
Jase McClellan
Roydell Williams
Kyle Edwards
Camar Wheaton
What a RB group. Wow any of these guys would likely be #1 any other school. BTW I am still excited about Trey Sanders if he can get healthy and stay that way. He is a smooth runner in what limited time we have seen him.

Unfortunately, a few will end up transferring ... just like the last time (2013) Bama had this many four and five Star RB’s on the roster (as illustrated by bama alum’s photo post). The competition for carries is going to be intense to say the least. Have to admire Wheaton for seeing that roster and still deciding to Roll with the Tide!

Didn't O'Brien and the OL coach play and/or coach at Georgia Tech. With that background maybe they could pull off the triple option :).
If I'm not mistaken, they were there about five years before Johnson brought in his offense. I want to say his season as OC at GT was under Chan Gailey.

I'd have to believe 1 if not 2 of these guys would look elsewhere after Spring practice if/when the rotation starts to sort itself out.

Crazy to think how differently that list looked & felt a few months ago, when Robinson & Wheaton weren't expected. But like I say every year, it's not just about the incoming class, it's also about the guys who decide to come back. While I don't think Robinson is an elite talent, he certainly solidifies that group in terms of toughness and experience.

Robinson sure looked good and fresh at the end of games after we let Najee pound on them for three quarters. I'm hoping Robinson continues that bruising style and allows it to open up for the other guys like it did him.

Great point. At the same time - Maybe that's just his best role... I'm sure the staff didn't sell him on that when making the decision to come back, but if McClelan, Sanders, or Roydell ends up being one of "those" talents, maybe BR just stays in his role.

And it's not really out of the question to think Robinson or Wheaton comes in and wins the starting gig. KR more likely, but Wheaton has some real giddy up!

I doubt Robinson came back to play the role he played under Najee. I also would not forget Sanders. This cat is the real deal. Going to be a crazy deep backfield.

OCs dream...come in....new....
RB room stacked...WR room stacked....OL room stacked....and a QB ready to roll....
All you gotta do is get the puzzle put together
The RB room has a little more proven experience especially if Sanders comes back 100%. WR room is more unproven. There Metchie and Bolden and a bunch of new guys. I guess Williams got some playing time unproven. Bolden could be a work horse but not the threat to take it to the house. Metchie could be that. No idea about the new guys although we all know it is likely there will be an explosive player or two coming out of this class but could take awhile to show it.

Oh I had forgotten about the TE. He could be a big mismatch for us. Kind of a hybrid TE/WR.
