🏈 Biggest college football loss

The part of this story never told...

Since Cumberland no longer had a football team, the school no longer had players as well so the team Ga. Tech faced that day were literally made up of students; not student athletes.

I can't recall how long ago I read "the rest of the story," perhaps a two years ago. It was quite interesting. About the biggest athletes Cumberland had on the team were fraternity guys that didn't play organized sports, at all.

Honestly, a good comparison today would be a Div. 1 football team playing a game against one of the campus social organizations.

This story is recounted every so often in the Lebanon (Tenn.) newspapers, where Cumberland is located.

Apparently, the Cumberland guys were so outmatched that, when a GA Tech player fumbled the ball, a Cumberland guy looked at it and said, "You dropped it; you pick it up." I love that line.
There's a book by the same name detailing the game.
