🏈 best stadium - Bama vs LSU (3rd Round) - voting ends 3/6

Well, I never saw a statement defining or distinguishing what was meant by "best," so I will assume they are talking about fan noise and intimidation.

As much as I hate to admit it, the corndogs get the mustard for this one (provided it's a night game). Tiger Stadium can be very similar to BDS (sound and fan behavior-wise) when it comes to day games.

Hopefully, the new expansion and also some eventual shift in ticketholder stadium behavior (still too many individuals who act as if they are at a tennis match or above their raising to cheer) will make differences, though I doubt that the latter will ever change.

I'm not suggesting one has to act corndog crazy at the game, but for gosh sakes, get up off the hands and yell when the game situation warrants it.

Thank you, it really ticks me off also to see those fans who think they are at a tennis match. It is happening in far too many sections and it spreads like the plague, the thing that is more aggravating is that when you are the only one standing up and screaming you get dirty looks from all the downers.

Yup. I will have to give the nod to the purple/gold corn dogs for noise and intimidation. Hopefully it will change in the future.

Ahh, I remember Legion Field as a kid and it seemed almost deafening, especially the '93 Bama vs. Tenn game.

I agree for the most part. Remember how quite our game with them started out last season? In fact it stayed that way for much of the game. The stadium announcer had to announce that it was dark just to resurrect some enthusiasm. By listening you would have thought we were up by 30. In reality we were either tied or up/down by 7. It was the strangest Baton Rouge behavior that I've noticed in a long time.

Oh, I always like it when Tiger Stadium gets quiet or empties out early. 87, 89, and 02 (fRan's last year) immediately come to mind--I cherish those moments.

Personally, if this is your idea of noise and intimidation from a crowd you can have it.

LSU fans at the end of this past seasons game

Funny how quiet that place was for the better part of three-and-a-half quarters against Troy, too. :D

Lot of corndogs left early and missed that comeback.

Btw TP, we were living in Red Stick and gave away tickets to what would be dubbed "The Earthquake Game" ('88 Auburn-LSU) because my wife was overdue with our first child. That was also before Tiger Stadium's expansion & capacity to what it is now.

Eddie Fuller's TD with about a minute left almost induced my wife into labor as we watched the game at home.

Sooo, what you are saying is two good things happened that night.

The birth of a child, Auburn lost. Next you'll be telling us you lost your virginity after an Bama v Auburn win as well.

What was so sweet was that Auburn was ranked around #4 at the time.

Nope, actually I probably should have said near her "due" date instead of "overdue;" she was definitely too far along to walk the ramps at Tiger Stadium, much less trying to sit or stand and watch the game from there.

She actually began having real contractions early on a Thursday evening a few weeks later (three weeks past the due date)--I remember it well because it was the same night as the Bama-Texa A&M rescheduled Hurricane Gilbert game.

I started to time her contractions and they were far enough apart that I didn't see a real need for us to head straight to the ER only to wait. Besides, we lived just three or four miles from the hospital,
so I tried to keep her as comfortable as possible until the Tide/Aggie game was over--then we loaded up for the trip to the hospital.

I think what really ticked her off, though, was the fact that I had to watch the replay of the game on ESPN later that same evening from the confines of her hospital room--but hey, she already had an epidural, so I didn't think I was being too insensitive.

Good story factor! Sort of redefines a Bama fan from the womb...
