Bama is listed as a 4.5 favorite. On a side note... It would be real nice to give them a little payback for the AJ Dybansta circus that wasted UA's time (and some $) back in December. Most coaches would probably not really look to revenge as a motivating factor in a game like this, with the Elite 8 on the line... but Nate Oats ain't most coaches. I could see maybe a little dose of that 2021 Will Wade style spur under his saddle. Hope Bama beats the brakes off of them....
 
Just glanced at Oats resume while at Bama... we all know this is the first time since Wimp in the 80's that Bama has been to 3 straight Sweet 16's (and 4 out of 5 years overall). I was curious where Oats stood right now on his Win % since being at UA. He's currently at 144-62, a .699 win %. That puts him just ahead of Wimp who is tied in 12 place all-time at .692. Oats .699 puts him in 10th position, which is pretty incredible when you think about how difficult he schedules and how difficult the league is these days. But if you only include guys that coached for at least 5 years in the SEC, Oats would be 8th all-time... and then we're talking he's behind guys like Rupp, Pitino, Calipari, Donovan, Tubby Smith, etc...

Pretty remarkable.

Think I saw Byrne sitting next to Mark Sears' mom last night. Dude needs to just go ahead and lock him up for the foreseeable future.

The protection is in the buyout, not the length. They just have to keep reworking it every couple years. But until his kids get out of school, it would take something really, really bad behind the scenes for him to bolt.
