I'm the same. I do wonder if people think a timeout is gonna make a team go cold all of a sudden.

Not necessarily go cold, but to break momentum. I’ve used timeouts in a variety of ways and it wasn’t to always “coach up” the team or chew their asses out. I did and replaced all 5 on the floor, done and chew out officials over a obviously blown call, and even called timeout and told the guys “this timeout is for you to figure out just how much the game means to you! Not that particular game, but basketball in general.” Then told them if it didn’t mean that much, let me know now and I’ll sub you out and not waste my time with you anymore!

When I coached baseball, I would go to the mound for a visit with the pitcher, pitcher and catcher, or entire infield. Shit, sometimes it would be to discuss situation, I would even tell a joke or I’d be pissed at the umpire, I would have my back to the plate and wait for him to come out and right before he got to us, one of the players would have eyes on him and with a nod, let me know he was almost there and I’d break up the meeting and jog back to the dugout.

Arizona did not play well in the first half but came out in the 2nd half and showed why they are the number 1 team in the country. Bottom line, it was just a good ole country whipping. Really concerned with our lack of rebounding. Oats missed big on Williamson.

Even without both Philon and Jemison, Bama's guard play hasn't lost a step. Yeah, I know there are are ten minutes left, but Bama's up by 35. Should be a solid win tonight!

Rebounding is much better this game. Amari Allen, Bristow, and Sherrell doing a really good job tracking down long boards.

Defense has been disappointing in the second half. We have got to have the worst transition D in college sports. It is downright awful.

You have to appreciate Mallette’s tenacity when he doesn’t have the ball. He is doing a whole lot off ball.

Alabama’s last few trips have been giving Bristow, Bol Bowen, and WIlliamson open shots from 3 and them missing horribly. Bristow does not need to shoot open shots. He has one ugly stroke.

Bethea I think is still growing but has the most upside on the team, besides Philon of course. Needs to get better about not dribbling away from this body but he’s a special talent.

Defense in the second half has been downright atrocious. I want us to be good, but I have zero faith ever in Brian Adams putting together a good defense.

Great win. Alabama hits over 100 yet again. Impressive win over an 11-2 Yale squad. Offense was great. Rebounding improved and the ball movement was crisp. Defense is going to struggle big time this season.

I saw someone mention they'd seen this game open around Bama -6.

On another note...I hated 11 AM games when I lived in Tuscaloosa. It's not so bad when it's noon, eastern.

I prefer it now. It gets our game out of the way, then we can enjoy the rest of Saturday basketball.

Tennessee and Arkansas tip off at Bud Walton right after our game. Other than that, it's a relatively tame Saturday for CBB.
