Recruiting Battles: Tide vs.Tigers
Andrew Bone | Editor
Alabama and Auburn will meet on Saturday in Tuscaloosa for the annual Iron Bowl. The Crimson Tide will host plenty of elite talent who are eager to watch the SEC showdown. Many of the prospects have scholarship offers from both schools. There are a few players committed to Alabama who strongly considered Auburn and vice-versa.

We take a look at five in-state prospects heavily recruited by the Crimson Tide and Tigers.

Note- We did not include prospects who don't have the ability to commit to both schools at this time.

Ruggs was expected to announce on August 1. However, he decided to delay his decision. Some speculated because Alabama accepted a commitment from five-star wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy. Auburn has made up some ground in recent months, and the race has tightened. Alabama is still considered the favorite at this time.

Tadarian Moultry

Moultry is a solid commitment to the Tigers. However, Alabama has recently stepped up its recruiting efforts for the in-state prospect. Moultry had a fantastic senior season. He has not given any indication he is considering Alabama, but something to watch if he takes an official visit.

Justyn Ross

The state of Alabama's top player in the 2018 class has taken several visits to Tuscaloosa. His teammate, Markail Benton, is committed to the University of Alabama in the 2017 class. Ross is heavily recruited by both in-state SEC schools.

Seth Williams

Wide Receiver

Williams will continue to see his stock rise when he hits camps in the spring. He is a considered a No.1 wide receiver target for several schools, and will move into the top three in-state when the new rankings are revealed. Williams is a local product for Alabama and hopes to secure an early commitment. Auburn offered early, and has done a great job recruiting him. Will he stay home or travel away from familiar territory to play college football?

Clay Webb

Offensive center

Webb is one of the early leaders for the No.1 player in the state for his class. The talented sophomore has several early scholarship offers including Alabama and Auburn. He was a star at the Rivals camp during the spring, and continues to dominate in camp settings and on the field. Webb has taken trips to both in-state schools and certainly one of the most heavily recruited players in his class.
