Despite all of the piss-poor coaching; beginning with the "dumb-ass QB change game plan" by the HC; continuing with the "WTH, if anything?" coaching by the ST coach; continuing with the "unbelievable, mind boggling technique" taught by the DB coach; and ending with the "stupid-ass play calling" by the OC; Bama still wins the game with compotent officiating. And that rests on the shoulders of a UA alum. :eyeroll:

Even a monkey could be taught to throw a flag on a running play that results in an undefended receiver catching a TD pass because the DB was most likely keying on linemen blocking downfield. I don't know how a Bama DB could key on that because they never turn their head around, but I digress. THROW THE FUCKING FLAG! The flag can always be picked up if the call is wrong. I know the play is not reviewable, but there is nothing stopping the Ref (the one with the white cap) from getting help from the booth while he is conferring with the monkey (the one with the black cap), and we all know what the booth is going to tell him. All can be done in a matter of seconds and no one the wiser as to what has occurred.

WTF is "component" officiating? You used the term in the headline and your post so it can't be a typo. How does it rest on the shoulders of a UA alum?

Officiating did not beat us, special teams, turnovers and bad play calling in the first half beat us. Hopefully, those 3 areas will be corrected this week in practice.

Take out special teams. The turnovers by special teams are still turnovers. No kicks were returned for TDs, all kicked XPs were good, and they recovered an onside kick. Sounds like a good day for special teams. The turnovers on special teams go to the individual, not the special team.

Turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover, turnover is why Alabama lost. Eliminate half the points from turnovers and Alabama wins.

I agree, turnovers were the biggest evil. However, point understood with officials not calling penalties when the OL was >3 yards downfield on pass plays. As a DB you have certain reads, one of them is OL downfield indicates a run. - or at least it used to.

One can blame the players. I chose the coaching. Makes no difference. You can add them ALL together and it doesn't invalidate my point. Despite ALL of this, Bama still wins the game with competent officiating. Fact remains. They won a 6 point game with an illegal 7 points.

I agree that the turnovers doomed us. More so where they happened.

(FUMBLE) Ole Miss starts at the bama 17yd line (field goal)
(INT) Ole Miss starts at the Bama 26 (touchdown)
(FUMBLE) Ole Miss Starts at the Bama 18 (touchdown)

Given the circumstances the defense played lights out. and gave us a chance.
