Already called out by Nebraska for wanting $1 million, Boise State finds itself under fire again for their "anyone, anytime, anywhere" mentality. This time, the Broncos have been thrown under the bus by the defending national champions. "Boise State has not contacted us," said Alabama athletic director Mal Moore. It may not seem like 'Bama's throwin' down entirely, but the Tide is now the second program to say "O Rly?" to Boise athletic director Gene Bleymaier bold claim.

I can't imagine Bama agreeing to a home and home with Boise State. It isn't that I think Mal Moore would run from it, there is just no upside to it. Bama would spend more money travelling to Boise than they'd make from the game with the glorified high school stadium they play in up there. Then again, Duke only has about twelve seats in their stadium and Bama went there this year.

I'd like to see a few SEC teams get their hands on Boise State. If they really would play "anyone, anywhere, any time" they wouldn't demand a home and home. I'd welcome them to Jordan-Hare personally if they wanted to come down. Until they lose a game I'm fine with them being in the top five. Should Bama or Ohio State drop a game I would like to see Boise get their shot. So they can either prove they belong or get exposed.

Sadly, I think Boise versus Bama would be a better game than Ohio State versus any SEC team. I just feel bad for those guys.

yeah, I think they only way they can prove themselves is to load up the schedule - I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Boise State probably doesn't want to do that. I would rather see this played out on the field with good solid teams during the normal season than how's its playing out now. We will never know if they are legit based on their schedule, I think they are...but their schedule won't help them back it up compared to others schedules.

haha, 12 seats, good one. kudo's to Duke for not pushing this to the Carolina Panthers stadium for the money.

I'm glad Coach Moore said it. I think the whining is becoming annoying from the land of Napoleon Dynamite. The only true "any place, anytime" team I have ever seen was Southern Miss when they were independent. They would play you 10 times in your place and never expect a return visit. I had seen the 4 for 1's. When they said it, they meant it. Boise St. is acting like pretenders. The last time they came to SEC country, Georgia kicked their ass. They don't want to be on one of our home fields again, truth be told. That's why their terms are so ludicrous.

BTW, I wish we would have played one game in Hattiesburg. I think the Golden Eagles earned it. I respected their program.

FSU in Bowden's early years was truly an "anyone, anytime, anyplace" team. Home and home if they could get it, 1 home and 2 away several times, just at their place much of the time. The won enough of these to make their bones as a legitimate national power.

FSU and Southern Miss are the only two programs I can think of that are honestly "anytime. anyplace, anywhere". I'm glad to see Coach Moore call their hand. If you are a legit contender and you want to be called a "big boy", you don't demand a $1 million to play.

.

It was really more of a pulling the game to Durham than how you are seeing it...Cut's idea if I recall correctly.
