Hello to all and Roll Tide !!!!!!!
My name is Tony and I'm an old hand known to some
here formerly as Bama-T. I'm now known by the same
name different spelling Bama-Tee. I have been gone
for a while but with good reason. As some of you may know (Porkchop etc.) I got married 3 years ago to my
beautiful wife Allison. We have 5 kids, 2 at home 3 out on their own. March 19 2007 began a nightmare for
our family. Our youngest son Nathan a big 6 ft 235 lb
middle linebacker for the West Laurens Raiders came
down with an illness known as HLH Syndrome which is
a blood disorder on the lines of leukemia but not
cancerous, still can be deadly. Nathan was in a coma
for 1 1/2 weeks and in PICU for 4 weeks. Nathan lost
his motor skills, ability to talk and became severely
atrophied during this time. The pasy 17 months have
been a roller coaster but God has been good to us.
Nathan has came a long way. He recieved a bone marrow
transplant last October and has steadily improved
since the BMT. He is still under going physical
therapy every Wednesday and has gone back to high
school this year. The doctors told us yeasterday that
there is a good chance that nathan will be off all
his meds by December. Nathans football days are over
and this has been especially hard on Nathan because
he was getting looks and had hopes for college ball.
The people here were good to us. The university of
Georgia presented Nathan with a game ball signed by
Mark Richt as well as a helmet signed by Richt. They
talked about his illness on the half time show that
day. Someone got a ball signed by Tommy "Tupperware"
from the Barn which I make him keep in his room out
of my sight. I keep hoping He'll get something from
Saban to even out the room lol !!! At any rate that's
where I've been. Now that nathan is doing well I'm
back to share the joys of "All Things Bama" with you
guys. I believe that Bama is on the doorstep of an
exciting new era of championship football.
God Bless and ROLL TIDE ROLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
