šŸˆ Auburn grad and former beat writer for AU proves beating Bama is more important that championships or any other victory.

I think he's right too! Them beating Bama last season didn't stop Bama from going to the playoff! Barners just saw that it tick Bama players off and gave then the gas to go and win it all. Not to say it helps Bama players to healer up either.

Beat Bama...........that is what their sign says.......................good ole auburn

Really you have to give the barn credit for they get up everyday of their life looking to TitleTown hoping to stick close to the Nick Saban Express. They will spend every dime they can get to make that happen.

Jay Jacobs...."we don't care about a string of 10 win seasons. We just want to win something big ever now and then". That is a great plan by the cow college sine they have won 10 games back to back once since Robert E Lee was actually riding that horse.

Its true.....
Beating Bama last year...probably...won Bama a NC...cause with the injuries..
I dont think we could have beaten a hot UGA team...plus TUA got a lot of reps between the AU game and the NC game....plus that road trip to California...showed late in game vs Bama for UGA.,,,....
And really....it ...the AU game....didn't mean much...the way it played out...

You're not far off here but there has been one.

It's easily argued their best stretch in history runs from 1986 to 1989 where they won 10 games in three seasons and one with nine wins--'88 and '89 were back to back. In that four year stretch they won the SEC outright once, shared the title with LSU the following year, and then shared it again in '89 with UT and Bama.

I'd challenge you to find an Auburnite who'll admit they're a traditional middle of the pack team in the SEC--few, and far between, if any.

Consider this. Since Auburn put back to back 10 wins seasons together...

UofSC has accomplished the same thing.
UArk has accomplished the same thing.
Missouri has accomplished the same thing.
A&M has not, so we're looking at three teams that have joined the SEC in the last quarter of a century and have accomplished something that Auburn has done once.

I'm guessing Mississippi did the same in their past under Vaught; I'd have to look it up to be sure. I'm betting that we have multiple years with LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Yeah...AU is middle of pack....
Lsu, uga, ut, florida, Bama ahead of them....
Second tier is AU, ark, AnM, Missouri
Third is rest...ms, msu, ky, vandy, usc
I'd arrange those a little differently since we're talking about back-to-back, 10 win seasons.

Your third tier includes USC which had three back to back to back 10 win seasons. A&M, in the second, hasn't managed that yet.
