Whether they'll admit it or not, Alabama fans are embarrassed by the arrests and pitiful conduct of their players. They're tired of the jokes and jabs from rivals.

They may never come right out and say it, but they want Saban to handle this nonsense. They want him to bring the hammer down and put a stop to it. They see him deal with the media in his brash, authoritative manner. They want the same guy to handle their troubled program.

Let me get this straight Jeremy Elder, Freshman Defensive Tackle is kicked off the team Tuesday because of a recent arrest for ALLEGEDLY robbing two other students at gunpoint... This seems hard to believe? Did the players actions show consistency with his overall background? Were there previous arrests at any time in the past? A history of deviant behavior? Saban pulled the trigger allright. This is still a country where you ALLEGEDLY are innocent until proven guilty. Shameful across the board.

This guy is a freaking genius. ^^KN

He's also speculative. What I want is to let Saban handle this in whatever manner he sees fit and not take action in the way the media thinks it should be handled.

What an idiot writer. So much for journalistic integrity on his part. He knows as does everyone else that incidences with a few will happen. Unfortunately they came in a cluster for us.

Granted there are no excuses.... but to blame the coach...pa...lease. Saban has already shown his commitment to excellence and building good character with his athletes.

This was a funny one though
All along we believed UA officials paid Saban $4 million because they thought he was the best coach in the land. Turns out, they were just planning ahead and figuring he'd need the extra cash for bail and attorneys' fees.

*head explodes*

Honestly, the guy has some points about all the arrests. Here is the deal though, with the exception of Elder, we don't really know alot about the others....at least I don't. Just what the papers and the forum says which when you think about it is really not much.

The point though is that Moon is essentially telling us things we already know. Why did he choose Alabama to do this with? Why not say that Hillary Clinton is a borderline socialist? That is something everyone knows too.

He chose to do an article where he could use his weak and transparent badge of journalism to bash Alabama and it does not bother me any more.

Consider the source. I for one do not give alot of credence to what some 3 day old turd says about the University of Alabama, it's football program or Head Coach Nick Saban.

Ref, are you saying Saban shouldn't have done what he did? He sat down with Elder and his parents and determined that there was some validity to the reports. Therefore, I don't think he had a choice. Too many times, coaches catch hell for wanting to "wait and see what the authorities say." I, for one, applaud Coach Saban for meeting with Elder and his family and taking the action he deemed necessary.

Nick Saban didn't wait for the court to judge Jeremy Elder. The Alabama football coach has found the freshman defensive lineman, who was charged with two counts of armed robbery on campus last weekend, guilty.

Saban's sentence: One year. At least.

No meetings, practices or games. No football-related activities at all. And no guarantee he'll ever suit up for Alabama again.

It's not the harshest sentence - the university could keep Elder from returning as a student - but at least Saban didn't use the typical dodge and wait for the legal system to run its course.

On the phone Thursday night, in his most extensive comments since Elder's arrest, Saban said he was "outraged" by the alleged crime.

"The bad thing about this one is the danger involved relative to putting someone else in harm's way," he said. "That's a serious issue to me."

He added: "It's more important to me that we do right than win a game."

Elder admitted to Saban in front of his parents what he did...and that was commit armed robbery.......he admitted his guild before he went to court.

josh moon is nothing but a true idiot. he shows his true colors every time he writes an article. with one sided journalism like that, i think he has reached his peak in his career.

he strikes me as your typical nerd. he probably was never any good at sports so he has to take out his aggression on his counter parts. he has started doing a radio show with doug amos on am 740, and he even sounds like a nerd. sorry to be so hard on the guy but he is really a sad story to me. and on top of all of that... he is a freakin' barner!
