🏈 Any Rumors On Alabama Being Jordan Brand

I was on Instagram and saw where someone said it was a rumor of Alabama going to Jordan brand. Anyone heard or seen any smoke regarding this? Of course anyone can say anything on the internet, but was just curious if anyone had been hearing anything about this.

I hope not as well. But, isn't Jordan a part of Nike? If that's the case, couldn't they transfer contracts and still capture the revenue?

from Wikioedia:

Nike owns none of the factories where Air Jordans are produced and contracts the work to various factory owners. Company officials say that they only design and market the shoes. However, Nike dictates production terms and standards to the contractor...

as well, there are 4 college football teams who use the jordan brand...
University of Florida
University of Michigan
University of North Carolina
University of Oklahoma

They can't transfer the contract without the approval of Alabama. Nike has a sweetheart deal and only pays Alabama $5.25 million per year. This is far below the massive UCLA contract with Under Armour ($18.7 million per year) or Texas and Ohio State with Nike ($16 million). Michigan's contract with Nike puts the Jumpman brand on football and basketball (other sports use traditional Nike brand), but the payment schedule is more complex with bonuses for on field/court performance (BIG10 appearance/championships, CFP involvement/championship).

Don't recall it being them selecting universities.

Michigan was the first and was a flip from Adidas. SDSU isn't a big get for Jumpman.

A group was selected otherwise all teams with Nike contacts would be wearing the Jumpman logo it's iconic.

It's possible we were approached and turned them down. It would be a slight change in the uniform if that's the case I glad I personally don't want our uniform changed in any way. It's a classic and you don't mess with perfection. JMO.
