| OT ⚽ Any other Premier League fans here?

3 point lead, 1 match in hand. Wrexham definitely has the easier schedule to finish up the season over Notts County. Notts has a lot of people near the top of the table Wrexham plays a few, but most of theirs are below the top and shouldn't be too hard to get wins in.
Thanks for the correction. I noticed it too late to edit my post.

And, their remaining match is at the Racecourse Ground, which should be a big plus for Wrexham. I think I'm going to try and score some Wrexham kit this summer when it's available. It's going to be like trying to get Garth Brooks tickets when I was in college, I'm afraid.

Hodgson close to deal to finish season as Crystal Palace gaffer after Viera sacked.

Actually, it was a 4 point lead when you and I were chatting, that's because the match for Notts with the draw hadn't hit the league table yet. So you weren't wrong and I honestly didn't notice it went to 3 points until I made that post.

Crystal Palace: Roy, you're too old. The game has passed you by.

18 months later . . .
Crystal Palace: Hey, Roy. You're exactly what we need!
It's official.

Nagelsmann sacked by Bayern. Tuchel taking over, so Tottenham will have to look elsewhere if they sack Conte. Guess they could go after Nagelsmann.

He's like Potter, a project manager. I don't know if he'd be a great fit at either Tottenham or Chelsea. I saw some report on Twitter last night that Nagelsmann found out he'd been sacked online. If that's actually true...Wow!

This is soccer right? Trying to understand why there is a 20 page thread on well soccer.... Thought I would drop in and add absolutely nothing to the conversation :). Carry on gentlemen...

The story of my life! Just pick a team and start following them. That's basically what I did about 5 years ago.(y)

I never followed soccer when I was younger. Now, it's my absolute favorite sport to watch.

And also feel pretty bad for Viera. Oh, but the 76 yo retread will do just fine.

So gimme a rundown of the Premier League. Things I know about it: Usual staples in the league are Man U, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal outside of that I don't know much.
I'm not the most knowledgeable about the Premier League, but I'll give you a quick run down of what I know.

Key

Uefa Champions League: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Europa League: 5th
Relegation: 18th, 19th, 20th
Top four teams (currently Arsenal, Man CIty, Man United, Tottenham) qualify for the Champions League, along with the top teams from other leagues across Europe.

Fifth place qualifies for Europa League, a step below Premier League, but the winner automatically qualifies for the Champions League next season.

Bottom three teams at the end of the season are relegated to the Championship League, with the top three teams from the Championship being promoted to the Premier League.

Points can be earned for each match: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.

The teams most often in contention for the Premier League title are the Big Six, aka big money clubs: Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Newcastle United aren't a traditional Big Six team, but they were bought by the Saudis last year, so they now have unlimited money and will probably be a staple in the top half of the table from here on out.

Oh, and Alabama-Auburn is nothing compared to these rivalries.
