Antibahs Kosgei Wins 2015 Individual SEC Men's Cross Country Title

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- University of Alabama junior Antibahs Kosgei was in front of the lead pack from the start, going wire-to-wire en route to claiming the 2015 Southeastern Conference Men's Cross Country title, finishing with an 8-kilometer time of 23:24.20 at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas, Friday morning. The native of Eldoret, Kenya, is the first Alabama runner to claim the SEC crown since Emmanuel Bor, also from Eldoret, did so in 2007. By virtue of winning the SEC title, Kosgei earned SEC Athlete of the Year honors.

Kosgei will represent at nationals on Saturday along with Katelyn Greenleaf. We may go up to Louisville and watch, not sure yet. Kosgei is reminiscent of David Kimani who I got to watch in the early 2000s.

Greenleaf finished a little over a minute behind the winner. 63rd? Kosgei faded pretty bad the last half of the race and ran 30:59 for 10K. King Chez did indeed win. 28:45. He's the only one that broke 29.
