It looks like he might have thrown a punch, but when we next see his hand it is on the ground and is open-handed. This video does not offer anything conclusive that I can see. I can't rule out that he was not punching the ground out of anger, and the fact that he was not in a tangled mound of players makes it even more unlikely that he would have risked an penelty that would have resulted in him being suspended for the SEC CG.

Yes, losing Spikes would be big, but this being a close cousin to the same think that he was kinda suspended for a few weeks back would have bumped this up to the SEC office...who would have be under some inconvenient pressure to pass a sensible punishment.

Heck. Even Tennessee could save only 1 of the 3.
