I think many haters are just waiting for Bama to have a "Down Game". I hope they're waiting for a long, long time.

Saban has made it that any season that doesn't end in a title is a down season.

I remember it being like this with Bear. You never worried that Bama would have a bad year, just are they gonna be in it for the title at the end of the season. We just expected to be there. Any ranking that had us below 3 was a bothersome thing. '69 and '70 were rough seasons, but starting in '71, it was a long run again - at least in the regular season...

I have been fortunate enough to see Bryant win a couple of titles(was alive for three of those but too young for the first of the 70's titles) and now the Saban era. I also lived through the asshole Perkins, the boring Curry, the boring but disciplined Stallings, the dummy Dubose, the phony Fran, the coach that never was and the outmatched Shula.
