Thoughts on the game tonight? Winner advances to the Championship

Both teams are 2-0, Alabama is a little more flexible and is becoming more dangerous on the ark; while on the other side, OSU will pound away with their 3 6"10 Forwards. Alabama will have to go high tempo and stretch them out and wear them down.

Their most dangerous player, Ahmad Starks, had a career high 32 points against NMSU..

I know this post will barely be read because many of you are primarily hooked on football.

Fouls to give underneath? I know, harping on the same point...

I read a little about the game last night at work and came away with the opinion the match ups to watch are who we put defending Starks (G,) if Brandt (C) is hitting from the perimeter, and as a whole keeping the offense from running through Collier (F.)

As I see it, this should be a W. Oregon State looks like a decent NIT team to me this season. It may end up being a close game if the combination of Starks and Collier hit the 20 point mark each.

We still haven't quite worked out how we want to play. It will be a definite switch as we become a more perimeter oriented team. Having Pollard will help against their big guy who likes to shoot threes.

i have not seen Oregon State yet, but being the Bama homer that I am, I am picking the Tide to roll tonight.

Moreso than football, I tend to watch a little PAC basketball. The parity in the conference makes it more interesting to watch than some of the others. I enjoyed watching Lute's teams, UCLA had their run for awhile as did Stanford.

Last season I can remember seeing Oregon State play but only because it was in the post season—CBI. When I looked over their roster there were a few names I recognized and that makes me believe they make a step forward this season. But, that step only takes them to the NIT.

On a side note:

This is a team that demonstrates how far we've past the "20 wins gets you in" mindset we saw less than a decade ago. They hit the 21 mark and were an average (not a compliment by any means) basketball team.

And another...

Looking at it I wish we had another good team in this little tourney. Nova didn't play well last season and Purdue isn't really making waves in the B1G either.

Well it was a good game, and Bama held out to win. Lacey is beginning to look more and more like a true threat from the 3 point line. We still need someone to step up be the threat under the goal.
