šŸˆ Alabama vs Oklahoma

the defense will play fine pretty much like they have all year.

the offense will need to pull it together and get better at run blocking assignments/technique.

hopefully AJ's shoulder will be well enough to stretch the field and make the opponent cover more of the field.

and... as always... throw more to the tight end. :)

Stop the run. If we stop the run, we're fine, IMO. OU doesn't have the dwonfield threat they normally do. Way more one dimensional than usual. Of course, not that we can't be beaten by a one dimensional team. :jackoff2:

Yeah I hope AJ's shoulders better, I mean throwing 99 yard TD passes just isnt good enough...

I think we'll see the Belldozer too, both of them run the read option but Bell is more of a QB dive kinda runner with power. Neither are excellent passers but I would suggest Bell is the better passer. Either way worrying about the QB run can always lead to big plays in the passing game no matter how good the QB is. Gotta stay disciplined.

I think they may have been sleep walking by Texas, but I have not been impressed by them at all defensively That run that got called back for a hold against Oklahoma State would definitely concern me if I were an OU fan. Sounds simple and stupid, but I see more stretch runs than usual with Drake in this game. Attack their LBers, make them go east-west, then hit them in the middle.

They allow about 140 yards rushing per game, but being in the Big XII might have a little to do with that since they allow over 4 yards per carry. Teams have been able to be really balanced against Oklahoma so I think that bodes very well for our offense.

It about time we all stat to talk about this game. What all you have to say? Will Bama players all be healthy to play? Who do you think will have and outstanding game?I hope that all will be able to play. To me,I want all to have a great game. Come let's talk about this game now.

After the 2013 Iron Bowl, I've stopped thinking that I know what is going to happen in any Alabama game. But, with CNS having signed a new contract with Alabama and considering the importance of setting a winning tone to start the playoff era, I think Alabama will beat OK handily.

We had them beat in 2002 and 2003. Those still tick me off! :chat_swear:Especially 2003, because we had the game until they pulled the fake punt in the 4th quarter. Anyway, I think this one will be similar to the Michigan State game played after the 2010 season. Maybe not quite 49-7, but I could see a 35-10 type of game. We will wear them down. They are in the unfortunate position of being the next team we face after the travesty against auburn.

When a team has been as dominate as Alabama for the past five years, it is not unusual for a coach to let his players enjoy the bowl experience a little bit when they are not playing for the championship. I really expect that to be the case for Alabama in this game. I think this game means a lot more for Oklahoma as they fight to stay relevant and their players will want it more in the game. I would not be a bit surprised to see Alabama be upset in this game and then head back to Tuscaloosa and start preparing for another NC run in 2014.

That would be terrible. We need the win just as much as Oklahoma. If we blow this one, that means that the seniors go out on back to back losses, something they have never experienced up to this point in their time at Bama. While AJ's record would still be awesome even with a loss in the bowl game, he would be remembered as dropping his final two. Plus, that would mean that our final win of the season came against Chattanooga. Not acceptable. We need to win and win big.

We need the win just as much as Oklahoma.

Do we? Consider this...the final AP pole for next season (2014) is:

1. Stanford 13-0
2. Virginia Tech 13-0
3. Alabama 12-1
4. Ohio St. 12-1
5. Oklahoma 12-1
6. Georgia 12-1
7. Oregon 11-2
8. LSU 10-2

Now, if we lose to OK in the bowl, does the committee put us in the four game playoff? I say yes, but is OK in if they lose the Sugar Bowl? I say maybe, but probably not. Now if they upset Alabama on Jan 2, I think they leap Ohio St and land in the playoffs.
