🏈 Alabama practice report: A few interesting notes from final open workout before Sugar Bowl

What we saw

-- All of the key starters who had been dealing with injuries continue to improve as kickoff approaches. Tight end Brian Vogler was running confidently with the brace on the knee he injured in late November against Western Carolina. Running back T.J. Yeldon also looked fine with his hamstring issues.

-- Also worth noting receiver Amari Coopertook a direct snap and threw a pass at one point in the viewing window.

-- We got to see the punt and punt block/return teams practice in the extra time not usually granted.

-- JK Scott had pooch punts with hang times of 4.28 and 4.41 seconds. He semi-shanked one that stayed in the air 3.71 seconds.

-- In games, you see Jalston Fowler is the first-team personal protector on the punt team, but we saw linebacker Trey DePriest is his backup.

-- Reserve punter Adrian Lamothe was giving the return team a rugby punt look. Ohio State uses that style quite a bit.

-- Alabama AD Bill Battle was on the sideline watching the action.

-- The Superdome field was also fully painted for game day. On your TV screens, the Alabama end zone will be on the left. The Tide will also be wearing crimson on the home sideline.
