first time poster, have visited the site in the many times in the past.

does anyone know how to purchase tix for this game, sitting in the Alabama section of Beaver Stadium, which is usually the NE corner endzone at the stadium.

I emailed the Bama ticket office, looking to see I could purchase tix for the game, but they said only season ticket holders could purchase away tickets.

I am from central PA, have been a life-long fan of Bama, and I am looking to go the game, and hopefully sit in the crimson tide section.

any info or point me in the right direction to get tix, would be greatly appreciate. roll tide.

First of all, welcome to the site, caribou, and I hope you'll become a contributor as well as a visitor. I am not sure how many tickets we will be allocated for that game, but season ticket holders will have the first shot at our allotment. They would become available to others only if the first group didn't take all of our allotment, which isn't likely. If you want to go to the game and sit among the Nittany Lions go through Penn State and see what you can do. It figures to be a tough ticket. if you don't mind paying a premium there will be tickets available through various internet sites such as Stub Hub. Good luck in getting those tickets and RTR.

I heard rumor we weren't getting as many tickets as we normally do to road games. I saw one thread, several months ago, on a PSU forum where the member was saying he thought we were only going to be allocated 5K tickets. I thought that sounded very low but haven't seen a number or anything that disputed that claim.

I'm pretty sure that is correct.

TP, 5k is what I was told. I know I have had season tickets for 10 years and I didn't get any. I thought for sure a couple of the doctors I work with would get tickets, one of whom has been a Tide Pride member since it's inception in 87. He didn't get tickets either.

Cariou. You'll be out there bidding with the rest of us it looks like. (BTW, Season ticket holder as well here.)

As for the "feeding the (football) 5,000", that sounds odd...weird even. No doubt PSU could sell every seat in their stadium (as could we), but 5K is so small that I can't see this getting into the press - PSU locks out Tide fans. Denies customary ticket allotment. For a school who enjoys a reputation of hospitality, why would they stiff a team that hosted them so kindly?

first of all, thanks for everyone's comments. I was afraid that I might have to buy on the net, say stub hub or ebay. I have gotten tix off in the ebay the past (handful of times) and the transactions have been pretty good.

I am going to the game whether or not I have tix in hand. I can tailgate and I'm pretty sure find some hospitable Bama fans. maybe even get lucky and have some Bama fans who are looking to sell some tix as well.

I live 45 minutes south of State College and in the mid 80s when the rivalry was on in full force, I talked to some PSU fans who said nothing but good things about Bama fans at Beaver Stadium. I even ran across some Bama fans back in '87 at a local restaurant, and they were most welcoming to talk about the game and how humphrey ran wild that nite in the rain.

I can believe the 5k tix allotment for Bama (or visitors for that manner). Visitors sit up in either section NJ or NK and with Beaver holding over 105,000 fans, PSU wants to keep their advantage as much as possible.

thanks again for the suggestions. I hope to take my 12yr old son to the game. he has become a Bama fan in the last 3-4 years because of me. I told him he's living the good life. Bama has been in the hunt for the last 3 yrs. I told him back in the early 80's we had some decent seasons and then a slow crawl up unto Stallings got the program back on track.

have a great day guys.

I've thought along those same lines. But, I don't know how many we allotted to them last season. I'd hate to ***** about something I had no right to, ya know?

I think we allotted 10K, but that's just a number that came to mind. It's either 12,13 or 15K from SEC teams, isn't it? Been so long since I looked at that (pre-south endzone expansion) I can't recall the exact number.

I like Penn State, but I'm afraid that it will come back and bite them to some degree.

Noting that this will be their White Out game, a small, well-defined area of Crimson-clad Bama fans will show that we had no trouble selling our allotment. Then when there are splashes of Crimson in-and-among that intended uninterrupted field of white, that Crimson will stand out like a beacon saying "you undercut us and here is someone who wanted it more than your fan".

There will be more Crimson outside the Alabama section than there will be Blue in the stadium.

I am planning to go, and I have a place to stay in State College. I'm getting tickets from a Zone member IF he gets them. From the points breakdown I saw earlier this spring it looks like it will be close. If I don't have tickets beforehand I don't think I'll be making the journey. I think it's great for others to go and tailgate, but that's not for me. I want to see the game and the child that gets to go with me will want to as well. I started planning this trip almost a year ago, but tickets are still the big glitch. For anyone wanting to join the NYCity Alumni group you can purchase tickets from them. You have to be on their trip to get the tickets though.

Good luck to all of us. I hope lots of us get to experience Happy Valley including myself.
