Kind of surprising to me that the officials for the game will not be from either teams conference. Has that been the SOP for the other neutral site season openers?

Good question Bo. It's new to me. We had Matt Austin when we played Va. Tech, and Tom Ritter when we played Clemson—both from the SEC.

I'm guessing that the choice of officials has to do with the stadium being in Big 12 country. The venue is likely paying for them and wants a crew closer to home to cut travel expenses.

to me, no. I'm there to watch a game - prefer to be on Bama side, but not a requirement - but it comes down to ticket price and how many seats I need :)

I'd imagine it will be 60-70% Bama...due to travel proximity.

I was at the Oregon/LSU game last year and there were only about 10-15% Oregon fans - I know Michigan travels better.

You right about that..... depends on price I may have to settle for Michigan side

Have you ever been around anyone from Michigan? :c001:

People on that side will just have to exercise a little patience.

Figure you'll have to endure some comments through the pre-game and into the first half. By half-time, the tone will change.

I suspect by the fourth quarter you'll have room to stretch out your legs.

Thanks! Have had to watch many 'Bama games online because of where I live but I still show my support way up here

I hear ya!

I ran into another Bama fan on a business trip to Charlotte, NC the other day who was complaining about not being able to see our softball team on TV much and he had to resort to watching it on the 'net.

I couldn't help but think back to a few years ago when we couldn't even do that! Amazing how far we've come as a society.

Heck, a decent computer and a decent TV...

I'm an out-of-stater myself...and, had a decent laugh at a few USCe fans just the other day when I was sitting at a bar with a cold one watching a replay of the Auburn game from last year on a tablet. One of the guys said, "Seriously, you're watching last years Auburn game?"

I apologized, and told them since it bothered them I'd change...switched to the BCSNC.

For some reason, they didn't see the humor.

Hopefully you're not talking about the Auburn game when they came back in the second half to win the game, that was a heartbreak.

That's pretty funny they didn't find it humorous to switch it too the National Championship unless they were also closet LSU fans and were mad Bama lost in regular season to them but beat them in the NC.
