Two weeks ago, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron shocked many Crimson Tide fans when he said that he would be supporting Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game, going as far as saying he “might wear orange and blue.” Sure, fans of the SEC are all about supporting their conference, but Alabama fans, and certainly players, aren’t allowed to pull for Auburn, right?

Wrong, at least according to McCarron. McCarron and Auburn’s Tre Mason spent a few days together ahead of this year’s Heisman Trophy presentation in New York City, and the two hit it off well. In fact, Mason impressed the whole McCarron family, and it appears that AJ’s mother Dee Dee is now a huge Tre Mason fan. Check out the shirt she’ll even be wearing for the national title game:

I for one only want to lose to the best, if in fact I'm going to lose (never expected or satisfactory in my book). I don't want to lose to the runner up, so I will be pulling for Auburn simply for the fact that we played the best and our only loss was to the best. If we lost to the best on a last second 60 yard field goal attempt that got ran back 109 yards in a wild finish, I can handle that better than knowing there was a better team than that out there. It would drive me nuts.

I see where you are coming from but my anti-Auburn dislike is too strong to permit me cheering for Auburn. Also, a BCSNC for them would make Nick's job recruiting in Alabama more difficult. I agree with BamaRaider. I also hope FSU hangs 70, or maybe even a C note on them. I don't have a problem with AJ and his mom cheering for whoever they like.
