AJ last night

In case you missed it, AJ started in a major showdown on MNF between his Bengals and the Broncos, in Denver.

The Backup Bowl, with big playoff implications.

AJ led the team to a 14-0 lead (including a beautiful TD pass to AJ Green). Cincy missed a FG. Broncos came back to make it 17-14 Denver. Cincy got a 52 yard FG. Game went to OT. Broncos got a FG. On Cincy's drive, AJ fumbled the snap and game was over. Bengals lost 20-17.

AJ looked great in the first half but had a few rookie-esque mistakes in the second. Overall he looked good and looked like a leader. Sucks the game ended how it did, though ..

Good luck in the playoffs, AJ.

Cincy's offense was eating up Denver in the first. Hue Jackson was padding his résumé. The D played prevent on a bad Broncos TD and pretty much from there on out, it was Denver's game. Cincy receivers dropped a few nice balls from AJ. Denver D brought it, though.

I just can't help but wonder what coulda been if AJ had that fumble back! Meh.

Shoulda seen the twitterverse last night. Bama fans tweeting as if they'd been lifelong Bengals fans haha. Lots of AJ love.

The other A J- Green- pulled up on a route that would have been a TD had he kept running, and this would have put the Bengals up 21-17, changing the complexion of the end of the 4th quarter. At first I thought he had held the ball too long when he got sacked late in the game, but revised that opinion when I saw the replay.

I like the college replay rule much better than the NFL's rule.
