Yep.

Unpublicized in all this is that the city of Tampa made virtually NO financial or very limited in-kind commitments to the ACC to serve as host city for this event.

After the pure disaster the ACC had with their game in Jacksonville, they desperately wanted to take it to Charlotte. Only problem was the stadium there was already booked for the required weekends needed this year and next AND Jacksonville told them they would require the ACC to pay THE CITY money to allocate city resources if the conference wanted to stay there until Charlotte became available in 2010.

Think about that last comment for a second. Can you imagine Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, New Orleans, Tampa, or Orlando telling the SEC 'sure, we will host your game if you pay us' were the SEC to re-shop the SECCG?

If attendance for the ACCCG does not improve dramatically over the next three years (one more in Tampa and two in Charlotte) look for the ACC to place the game in a home stadium of one of the participants (likely using a version of the MLB determination where the division of the winning team the prior year serves as the game host the next year).

It was just the day of the game, it was advertised before the game.

I saw it online the day before I made this post ab out it. So, it was in place by at least Tuesday before the game.

The same day I looked at one of the ticket brokers online to see what it would cost to attend the game. Lower level tickets, great seats, were running $39 a piece.

The same broker had similar SECCG tickets at $460 a piece.
