Located in the Sipsey Wilderness of the Bankhead National Forest. White Creek Falls even with low water is still a beautiful place. The two falls are separated by approximately 100 feet.
For some reason, this made me think of the place along I-65 north of that you can get fresh water running off the mountain. We stopped by many times when we can back from Smith Lake as a kid.
Very cool. My wife and I drove through and around Cades Cove today, and I was kinda jealous of the folks that were hiking to some of the falls. Been a while since we've done that.
Butch is a personal friend of mine. He is an authority on anything to do with the Bankhead Forest. He has written several books about the land and people who settled in and around the forest.
