🏈 5-6 games to go, how do things look?

Well now, 7 games into the season & 'Bama's easy schedule (sarcasm) is a little bit more vaunted, huh?

Before I get into the remaining schedule ==> no penalties, no turnovers, no points, & no given up sacks??!!! That is the $hizzell no matter who you play. That my friends, is Class A coaching!

A few thoughts about the remaining slate:
  • UT is a much better football team than last year. Fundamentals (penalties, physical, & technique) are all better. They are not going to do well end of season, considering their remaining games BUT they will maintain their fundamentals that much better than years past. I other words, Butch Jones will not let them quit.
  • LSU will be a man on fire Nov 9th. They will play their scrimmage against Furman this week trying to get back to how they were & then spend the off week preparing to be better. There is a world of motivation for them.
  • Miss St is just terrible. Their only advantage is home field, FWIW.
  • Chattanooga, let's keep our guys healthy. As long as the game is a win & fundamentals are good, get the 2nd & 3rd teams in.
  • Auburn is much improved & they could realistically win out the rest of their games, & therefore will be playing 'Bama for the West. Going into Jordan-Hare, this game is going to be BIG, especially if BOTH teams win out before the 30th.

Missou has practically sewn up the East, unless they self destruct. I couldn't have asked for a better team w/ style of play to prepare & play against when considering Oregon & FSU. I don't think Missou is better than them & I think we can certainly win but this game will place more practice emphasis on defending them, which will translate into much of the same IF we make it to the BCSNC.

The biggest difference will be though that none of the remaining teams has a QB on the level of Mariotta & Winston. All of the big wins against CNS & 'Bama has been w/ monster QB's.

The next 45 days is going to be something special.

Good thoughts.

The Iron Bowl will be the SEC West Championship, unless Auburn chokes. I think Tennessee will come out swinging in the first quarter this Saturday, much like Ole Miss last year, but will collapse. Both Auburn and Tennesee are gonna be cocky right now, so we've got them right where we want them. I still feel LSU is our biggest challenge. On paper, they should be a good match up, but who knows. This year's Iron Bowl will certainly be exciting if the Barn wins out. It will definitely be an interesting next couple of weeks, especially for teams like Oregon.

I'm really not buying into Tennessee that much. Worley has improved, but honestly, does anyone think South Carolina is just that bad? Well not bad, but really overrated. Their play calling was really questionable to me and I don't see a receiver on the outside worth respecting. I'm sure we'll get a very motivated and excited Tennessee squad, but with us at home and the O-Line beginning to click, I'm not at all worried. In fact, I'm smoking a cigar right now. 7 years over Big Orange mhmm amazing.

LSU game will always be the game with Les there. Last ten years has provided a lot of excitement and intensity. We'll be on the edge of our seats for that one, as always.

Auburn. I just love it that their fans are buying into the fact that they might beat us this year. Its just getting them all giddy. This is good. That way, they will worry about their own team for once and will stay through the whole Iron Bowl to witness and hear us all scream Rammer Jammer in that stump. One thing I hope doesn't happen is Gameday go down there for that game.

If Gurley is healthy for Jawja, then Jawja will beat the barn. They could well lose one more game, too. If Johnny Drama doesn't throw those two early INTs, then that game Saturday would have been out of reach quickly. You know the old adage, the longer you keep a lesser team in the game... I'm just not sold on the barn, at all!

LSU will be a man on fire Nov 9th.

Completely agree! That's the game that still concerns me more than the others.

LSU will come to play, but they aren't the same team they were in the past on the defensive side of the ball - they are giving up big play after big play this year. I'm still not sold on the QB play, they have some really good WRs, TE, and stable of RB's.

the SEC is down defensively. including us. several teams are also up offensively compared to the average year this leads many of our teams to believe that they are better than they are.

Alabama still, by far, has the best defense in our conference. Even with the loss of Sunseri, we are better than anyone else. Auburn and tenn will be lucky if they don't look like arkansas just did.

the real question is, do either of those teams have a fart's chance in a windstorm of stopping the Alabama offense. NO THEY DON'T!!!!

and there's the game. Bama wins both by at least 17 points.
