I'm thinking Trey Moore and LT Overton are our top Defensive targets right now. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us look for a CB and ILB.

On the offensive side, I think we're interested in snagging some immediate OL help but I haven't heard anyone tabbed for that spot.

Would love to land an experienced OT, but if not.... we've got guys currently on the team that could be productive for us, they just need to get the reps and experience. Same thing Proctor had to do all year, and its payed off for him tremendously.

I've been adamant about landing an ILB in the portal, we're likely gonna have guys transfer out of that room after the season. Two guys we should be looking at both transferred from Georgia, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, and Xavien Sorey. Hope that room stays mostly intact, but with Jeremiah Alexander moving over(and playing well there already) I do not see that happening. If we don't go the transfer route, I'm fine with doing what we did with Alexander, and move guys to that position to get experience playing it. Couple of guys in that OLB room that have experience playing ILB in high school, they just don't have experience playing the position in this defensive system.

Re: Pritchett and all this portal madness...

Was talking to someone (not associated with UA) the other day about all this... The transfer stuff is now as wild, and in some cases wilder, than the actual recruiting of HS kids which is out of control in it's own right. This transfer stuff adds in tampering and agents to the pot, not to mention the similar type of high bidding seen at the HS recruit level. In some cases, guys who are draft ready are instead shopping around for NIL deals... NFL agents are having to recruit against schools now, something that they've never had to do. But for UA, this is also a reminder that while it has, and will still happen on occasion... very few guys that Saban really wants to keep in the fold, will bolt. But unless/until some changes are made or unless/until a high water mark on this circus is reached, it's going to continue to be absolutely crazy out there... unregulated free agency.

I will say one positive about these instances is that NIL may keep a guy in school and from making a terrible decision that cuts his career short due to not being ready to go pro. That extra year could help a lot of guys.

So what is the story behind this. You do not say you are entering portal unless something is going on then reverse that decision. Glad to hear it but what is the story? Also, very odd players like this would announce when they are playing on a team that is in a NC hunt. This is madness and out of control system. A lot of distractions and it is about me stuff going on. Maybe it has always been that way but it is just more out there now than ever before.

The story is that he changed his mind.

Why did he choose to enter in the first place? Somebody bending his ear about something like NIL $$ or giving him bad advice? Of course he could have simply thought about it more on his own and decided it was not in his best interest.
Chances are a relative expressed their views to someone who then passed it along as coming straight from the player. Hayes Fawcett may have contacted Pritchett and asked him and answer couldā€™ve possibly been ā€œIā€™m thinking about it!ā€ After having been around kids for 28 years as a teacher/coach, you come to realize that they change their minds more often than they change their underwear!

I'm sure there are better ideas out there, but I think they should only let players who have graduated transfer in December without penalty, but start the transfer window a bit later and slide the window a little deeper into Jan. All other 1 time transfers should have to wait until after the spring semester then have about 5 weeks starting May 1st to transfer. Then maybe 1 final 10 day window at the end of July, early August before the season begins.
I think it is pretty simple. Go back to one national signing day in Feb.

Open the portal after the title game, close it Feb 1st...a dead period for high school recruits and a dead period for transfers.
