Does anyone have any news on how the 2008 recruits have been doing in practices? and also does anyone have any predictions on which ones might be starters this season?

You really can't tell too much from 7 on 7 stuff, but by mid August, some of the new guys will start making some serious noise.

This is a post I made about a week ago on this topic, so it is a copy and paste...

I think Harris (SLB), Hightower (Jack), and Barron (SS) will all be starting by the 3rd or 4th game. Dareus and Lawrence will both be getting a LOT of playing time off the bench, and either might earn a starting job before the season is over.

On offense, I think Julio and Scott will be in the rotation at WR, both will play a lot right away, and could start depending on the groupings. Love has a chance to start later in the season, but I tend to think they will have M. Johnson at RT unless Love just really, really impresses the staff. Ingram will get his carries. If he makes the most of them, plenty more will follow.

Man i just cant wait for football season to start and to see what kind of team were going to have and see what type of future were going to have with this upcoming class... and also to see if JPW has improved at all and whether he will step up this season besides on two minute drills... which i know everyone of this site cant either...

I'm predicting Davis to lose the RT position to Johnson or Love 3 games in...

I have to say it's easy to see Julio and BJ 'starting'. I expect Harris, Hightower, and Baron to have plenty of playing time by the 3rd game...if not starting. Upshaw and Dareus should get a lot of PT also.

Who will be the LG if Johnson goes to RT, Johnson is more suited for LG.

Saban likes our starting five and I think Barret Jones will turn out to be the best OL :D

Possibly either Caldwell or Vlachos. Bottom line is, getting the best 5 out there, IMO.
