#1 1980 alabama 3, miss. st 6

20 seconds left. alabama, down by 3, has the ball 1st and goal from the 4 yard line.. fumble!! miss. st. ball!!

#2 1992 Alabama 30, Miss. St. 21

Mississippi State trailing 20-3 at halftime, rallied to take a 21-20 lead on Chris Gardner's 27-yard field goal with 1 minute 29 seconds left in the third quarter. But after a bizarre punt return sequence in which both sides fumbled the ball, Alabama regained the lead on Michael Proctor's 26-yard field goal with 8:10 remaining in the fourth period.

They have been a mountain to climb over late in the season year after year. Glen Coffee said it best in the interview this week.. "we still have some loose ends to tie up"

Agreed. Although, I can't imagine the team not being able to get up against our next two opponents given our recent track record against them.

Two more reasons:

2007 - Bama 12, MSU 17
2006 - Bama 16, MSU 24 (their only SEC victory in 2006)

The topic of JPW and his detractors/supporters surfaces frequently. The '07 MSU game was a game that renewed criticism of him. The '80 MSU game is linked to Don Jacobs as well. That's a shame, too, because Jacobs was a hell of a quartback for Bama.
