šŸ“” YouTube TV and ESPN/ABC are officially on a break...

They better fucking resolve this before Saturday. I think I'm about to just go back to cable if this shit persists. It's fucking ridiculous.

I put antenna up. Get 50+ channels including networks. But still need directv to get espn ... sec network. Gonna cut direct out after football and add espn app.

It is ridiculous how they cut customers out and squeeze people.

I Just had to learn how to use the internet and system which took me a little while.

I think main think i will miss is recording on dvr and watching without commercials.

@Brandon Van de Graaff what do you see as best temporary option. Have you tried the new ESPN Unlimited? If so, is it actually ā€œliveā€?
* I hate when you see the score on X and then 45 seconds later you see the play on tv (YouTube tv only has 5-7 seconds delay from my test - as compared to OTA )
Are all games on all ESPN platforms available for the $29 charge?
Asking Brandon, but anyone with first hand knowledge please chime in.

I understand YTTV is giving $20 credits. The app is $29 a month. You'll spend $9 but it does open a lot.

It's live. Like any feed, it may be delayed versus what others are seeing. Quality is good. The Hulu option is a reason to catch up on a few shows if you wanted to justify the $9.

Something you could try is just looking up Livestreams on YouTube itself. Someone is going to show these games.

I’m still able to access them through the ESPN app I guess because it’s in a Disney/Hulu bundle we have. No idea how much it is. It may even be included with my Verizon account, they give out something for free, I can’t recall what.

But like scrape said, there will be feeds of the games on YT more than likely. Some other places too if you don’t mind Russian pop up ads.

I don't use youtubeTV for anything but sports so I ended up canceling everything and grabbing the ESPN Unlimited, Disney+ and Hulu since I needed to sign up for those for now. I can adjust my plan later I guess but for now just making sure I can watch our games hopefully we don't get a playoff game on Fox or something lol

ESPN holds the rights until '31 (I think that's the year.) I remember reading something about an agreement they made with TNT to carry games. I don't remember what it entailed.

I'm guessing TNT would carry the games featuring #12 or #11. I can't see ESPN letting a #8 v #9 game go.

We'll see how things stand in a few days.

You have YTTv correct?
I was wondering how delayed the ESPN Unlimited is. Also, I have the ESPN+ package - this is different from ESPN Unlimited, correct?
Again asking anyone who knows

I do have YYTV. Not sure on the delay, I’d think it’s about the same as YTTV wish is maybe a minute slower from actual live action (which is the most aggravating thing about streaming). The ESPN feed might be a tad slower.

Not sure on that last question.

Have you used the broadcast delay reduction on YYTV? I have an OTA antenna & have compared -the YTTV with the delay decreased is only a few seconds behind the actual broadcast. One of the many things I like about YTTV

Is that in settings? Now that you mention it I remember that being rolled out but I can’t remember if I ever selected it. Does it impact the quality of the feed any?

When you are viewing a channel hit the down arrow. Select the 3 dots under the picture. Third option is ā€œBroadcast delay ā€œ - select ā€œdecreased ā€œ. It is very close to actual broadcast.
I haven’t seen any quality decrease- I’m on Starlink.
Give it a try
Also, once you set it, you don’t have to adjust again. It stays on the setting that you select

Awesome. Thanks. I had not seen that. I'll use it tonight for the WS game and see how well it works. I assume it'll work in 4K, but I can try it either way.

I remember an article or tweet mentioning it was coming a while back but never saw anything else.

Remember 2023? Spectrum and the Pissney family of networks weren't speaking to each other and everybody said "why just go to YouTube TV! Where such a thing doesn't happen!" Two years later....fucked harder up the ass by YouTube TV than Spectrum EVER did. Fucking die and go to hell, YouTube TV

Connecting some dots here tells me this may not fall in Google’s lap. Who is benefiting the most from the ABC/ESPN going dark on YouTube? I’d (and others out there) would say Hulu is the winner. They’ve been lagging and this will get them a resurgence of subscribers. Who owns Hulu?

Disney.

So maybe, Google and YouTube are the ones taking it in the rear.
