| CURRENT EVENTS You are in charge of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) What's a cut you'll make from government spending?

It wouldn't be my first, but it would be done.

Cutting the government funding of NPR. While there is little doubt which side of the isle they lean on, it's not about their politics with me.

PBS has done greater good and they are supported by private donations.

I'm starting to think there is a legitimate correlation to causation exampled with NPR and DOE: both riding the crest of irrelevance.

First, claw back as much unspent money from the Inflation Production Act. Not sure how much that is, but it's funding a wide range of radical causes.

Second, cut that $7 billion we're giving to illegal immigrants per year. It's not much, but symbolic.

Third, many are saying abolish the Dept. of Education. Education expenditures existed under other agencies in the 20th century well ahead of the department's founding, so it doesn't just go away. About half of their expenditures (over $100 billion) is in student loans, which is broken. $1.5 trillion outstanding, and thirty percent are contractually delinquent. And, it's actually worse than that. Only 39% of all loans are being repaid. Many are considered "current" but require a payment of zero. Hard to fall behind like that. They lose a ton every year. I'd propose a settlement arrangement to offer all borrowers the ability to pay off their loans in a lump sum at a significant discount (25 to 50 percent). That could bring in several hundred billion, and reduce the servicing requirements that would cut administrative costs.

Third, cut a quarter of HUD funding, Dept. of Labor, EPA, OPM, GAO.

Fourth, dig into Health & Human Services.

That's just scratching the surface. Someone good at this who is empowered to do it can really make a difference. Once the cuts are announced, K Street will have a field day.

I've heard a few mention something similar. It's original.

What would keep private lenders from financing the repayment of the loan at a higher percentage rate?

It's my understanding there is A LOT of money being held by the DOE from Covid relief funds sent to their organization.

Would you argue the DOE is NOT another "propaganda arm?"

This move is about to hit the courts… They are saying that involving private citizens in government funds is supposedly unconstitutional..It will most likely end up in a Democrat appointed federal court when the dems go court shopping..

It would be a smart play if the borrower is creditworthy. If I could refi half the amount from a current rate of seven percent to a new rate of, say, nine percent, it would make great sense.

If you have a $50,000 student loan balance, seven percent, twenty year am, the montly pay is $387. Refi at 25, nine percent, keep the same payment and you're paid off in 82 months, just under seven years.

The cost of regulating Diesel fuel across the nation…If Diesel fuel prices were slashed $2 a gallon the inflation would drop drastically..That is the most important thing Trump can do…

Congress should give Trump the line item veto!
