Who is WKU?
I was thinking this ealry morning that I felt the need to share with my fellow friends that I can not sleep and will subject you my WKU preview. This is NOT taking the place of TerryP or others preview. Just my view point. And even if it did take the place of TerryP post he would write another one because we just never see eye to eye. :D :D :D

WKU or Western Kentucky University.

Please their site tells all that they are NOT "Western, or Western Kentucky, or WK, etc...." but they are WKU or Western Kentucky University. I think that we can be nice and call them by there real name.

They are located in Bowling Green Kentucky. Not BG, Ky. Not BG Kentucky. But Bowling Green Kentucky.

Its not my fault. They are just picky about there name! :D

Ok...im done with their school info. Football info to follow:

Head Coach: David Elson. Someone else can write about him! :D

WKU is located, as alot of you guys know, in the conference that last year we SUCKED against. The Sun Belt Conference  (The last Sun Belt Conference school to walk into Bryant-Denny Stadium left with a victory as Louisiana-Monroe defeated Alabama 21-14 on Nov. 17, 2007.)

They are also a new D-1A school.
2007 was there first year with Football playing D-1A in the Sunbelt conference. (Other sports where in the Sun Belt already but Mens Soccer and Football still played D-1AA)

Last year they went 7-5.
They played "lower tier" teams" with a up and down offense.
They lost bad to Florida to open the season at Gainesville 3 - 49.
But they learned there lesson and went an a scoring spree when they scored 87 points (final score 87-0) against West Virginia TECH last year.

This year they are opening on a better note. Kinda. They lost to Indiana 13-31. But the plus for them is the fact that they had 13 points. Indiana threw on them all day long. With there QB passing for over 300 yards and 4 TD's. The second game for them was agianst their rival Eastern Kentucky and they won 37-13 in a game that they call the "Battle of the Bluegrass". They call it this whenever they play EKU in any sport. And have played it 85 times!

This week they have a tougher task. Beating a team that is ranked SEC team at HOME.

#11 Alabama! (ROLL TIDE ROLL)

The Crimson Tide (2-0) have climbed the polls after opening the season with wins over the-#9 Clemson and Tulane. This will be the fourth straight season that the Hilltoppers have faced off against at team from the Southeastern Conference. They opened the 2007 season at defending national champion Florida, and have also traveled to Georgia (2006) and Auburn (2003 and 2005).

WKU will be facing an opponent from the Southeastern Conference for the fifth time in the last six seasons this week when it heads to Alabama. Over that stretch, the Toppers have played at Auburn (2003, 2005), Georgia (2006) and Florida (2007). They will face another SEC foe at the end of the month when they travel to Lexington to take on Kentucky. Then they travel to Virginia Tech to play the Hokies on Oct 04, 2008. With the way the Hokies are playing they just might get a win! But the one problem is that WKU is yet to win a game in 11 tries against the teams that currently make up the SEC. (Not a good stat for them)

WKU will start a YOUNG defense!
The problem is that most of the players will not have been in situations with 92 thousand people yelling at them. This will prove to be a problem for WKU. Redshirt freshmen Ryan Beard and Trent Calhoun both made their first career starts in the Hilltopper secondary last week at EKU, while sophomore Preston King got his first career start on the offensive line. Beard’s five tackles were tied for third most on the Topper defense.

0-2 when facing off with Auburn.

WKU has a good team. But they just can not compete with the powerhouse teams in BCS conferences. If Alabama shows up this game will be over when WKU loses the coin flip. If Alabama doesnt show up this game will be over when they run the opening kick back for a TD.

I think that John Parker Wilson will be able to throw the ball and that will open the running game.

I think the total offense will be around 350 yards and the Final Score be 31-10.

Roll Tide Roll
p.s. its 4 am. So this doesnt make any sense, you can re type it at 4 am your time!
