🏀 With the win over UK, Oats sets a new UA record for wins over AP top 25 teams. Another one that won't get as much attention ...

Wimp was here 12 years. Oats has surpassed it with half the time. Again, I know we've extended him every season, but just lock him in for good. If an NBA team throws ridiculous money at him and he goes, oh well. But no college team should even think about calling him because of the contract.
Contracts are for recruiting. ...if someone throws big time at him. We need to match.
Build him his new bball palace. ...the millionaire bama boosters need to pony up ...

What the coach wants:Logic personified watching:What fans want:
  • NIL
  • Practice facility
Looking Around GIF by Kim's Convenience
  • Build an arena

Exactly!

Build a fookn multipurpose arena with an ice subfloor so that our club hockey team doesn't have to spend their own money driving to Pell-ham every week for practice and games.
I don't think people realize what they are asking for with the new arena, to be honest. With the way designing and archetypal (stream of consciousness writing led to the wrong word, but it fits) architectural plans have been the last few years we're looking at what's basically an airport concourse which happens to have a basketball court.

I think I mentioned this in the game thread for Bama visiting Texas a few weeks ago. A friend of mine went to that game and described their new arena as "sterile." I want to smell popcorn when I walk in the door. Hell, if it smelled like a gym I wouldn't be upset: I'd be ready for some basketball.

The word "sterile" when describing a building for sporting events? Dude. Nothing about that appeals to me, at all.

Oats said in the post game presser when asked about passing Wimp, he made sure to let everyone know the talent pool in the league now is a lot DEEPER!

No. Thats why "state of art" is important. But... i never expect it anymore. Had hopes once. But NIL has killed the flow of money from facilities to players.
And cost of "state of art" is astronomical...like all things ....

One day ...maybe.

Lots of awesome history in Coleman.

But continuing to "reconfigure" and "update" it is like scooping the still-soft innards out of a turd that's started drying on the outside and replacing said innards.

It's still a turd.

It wasn't... Once.

But, practically everybody (it seems) in the OG 12-team SEC has newer game facilities.

We have ourselves a generational coach.

Let's build him a NEW arena, for Pete's sake.
