I always have and always will believe that the NCAA came down harder on Alabama because of the Mal Moore / Logan Young relationship.I don't blame him for the Fran hire. I was all for it at the time.Price, I never liked that hire. Even without the stripper episode, I don't think he would have ever lasted at Alabama. So, between the lack of a background check, and Mal Moore not wanting to fire him even after the stripped deal (that was basically, Pres. Witt's doing), I do fault him for Price.Shula? At the time I was for hiring Shula, at least to some extent. I figured he had 2 choices. Hire Shula (or Croom or Williamson {Williamson being CMM's preference BTW}). Or, name Joe Kines as interim HC and let him handle the 2003 season. This gives time for a real coaching search. In retrospect, the 2nd choice would have been the best.
