With all that has been said on Tulane, is there a comparison of sorts between Tulane and WK and how do we match up?

Western is more of a running team than Tulane. Their starting QB, Sophomore K.J. Black, hurt his shoulder in the first quarter of the EKU game and did not return. Senior David Wolke, who split time with Black last season, took over and took them the rest of the way. Their statistics (passing and rushing) were almost identical last year. I don't know the extent of Black's injury.

RTR,

Tim

don't you mean WKY BEATDOWN?

Breakdown is not relevant. Beatdown is what will happen.

This is no longer an issue of Trickle Down football economy, this is the haves and the have nots.

WKY is transitioning from 1AA to 1A, and IU gave them a beatdown two weeks ago. Eastern KY played them close for a half. WKU was a mediocre 1AA team. Now they are going 1A. They will come to Ttown, take a beating, pick up a check, and go back to KY happy.

IU had 300 yards rushing on them. WKU had 60.

This will be a far more typical beat-down type game. We were excited after Clemson and thought that we would destroy Tulane (and we should have), but this game will not even be close. This is not a Tulane or North Texas or even La. Monroe, this is a UT Chattanooga (UTC lost to them 28-21 last year). If we do not blow them out, I think offensive and defensive execution might be a good idea.

Parity is one thing. WKyU is another.

Bama by name the score.

All that Hilltopper bashing sure sounds like bulletin board material to me...Hahahahaaa!!!! :P

Bulletin board, Schmulletin board. They can use a dart board or a waterboard for all I care - Bama by a LOT. Coming off a game like we just had, and getting Smitty back, I would not want to be on the defense that has to face this offense this week. They are going to be a bit angry.

Prediction: The first team offense does not punt.

Bad choice

When I was writing the question, I knew that "Breakdown" was a BAD choice of words. We've sorta had that one already. Dang sure don't need another one. Thanks for taking it easy on me! And thanks for the replies.

After last year's LM 'beatdown', I don't look at any team as a given - period. While the stats and evaluations look nice on paper, you can never predict how each team will play, injuries, etc... I quit looking for beatdowns and only look for wins. I don't care how ugly they are.

Point again proven for me!
Thank you GT.

couple of quick things to know:

UTC (University of Tennessee of Chattanooga) is a few miles from me. They lost by only a touchdown to Western Kentucky.

Ohio State scored 50 points on UTC 2 weeks ago...... IN THE FIRST HALF!!!!!!!!!!!

The game against UTC was in November of 2007. Not a lot of bearing on 2008, IMO.

It was Oklahoma, but yes...50-0 was the halftime score.

WKU is better than UTC, but not a world better.

UTC had 36 yards of total offense and 2 first downs for the GAME against OU...I don't expect WKyU to have a much better game against us.

You are probably right...WKyU was probably better last season. Jacksonville State would beat them this season.

Forgive me for being concerned. After sitting through Duke, Florida International, ULM and Tulane (to only name a few) I have to be re-trained. Anytime Alabama would like to start the re-training process I'm more than ready.

We must squash them like a grape. A GRAPE I say.

Then, during the third game of the second of the Sabanite's Crimsonians, they will choose a new form for them: that of a giant Slor! Many Hilltoppers and Kentuckians will know what it is to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you.
