šŸ’¬ WaPo shutting downt heir sports desk (sorta.) This is when you know they are right.

I never looked at a journo's feed before on Twitter. It's constant retweets of other journos, a real suckfest. Despicable bunch.
Funny you say that. I was talking with a co-worker today about LinkedIn and a meme I saw a few months ago. It showed two elephants sucking one another off and said........every post on LinkedIn. I literally lol'd. So true.

This is the price paid when billionaires buy up shit they know nothing about. When Bezos first bought it everybody knew this was a ,after of time, not sure why you buy a media company with zero interest in doing anything with it

Why would you say the Graham family didn't know what they were doing in the industry? They did well for a lot of that span; three quarters of a century.

Video has another victim to lay beside the radio star.

Think about this. When ESPN debuted their "opinion shows" that were opposite the local and national news—your PTI's and Around the Horn, the national media guys from print publications—gravitated to video/TV. While thinking they could be the next Dan Patrick (host and write his own material) they coudn't. The old "can't serve two masters" proverb.

Don't forget. This is the same script the NYT wrote a few years ago. And, in their wisdom, decided to buy "The Athletic" which is, has been, and looks like it will always be a money pit.

@Brandon Van de Graaff thought you would appreciate this considering the wonderful west coast swimming coverage we've received while reading a football writer.

He's 57-58. He graduated Mizzou two years after I graduated high school so he's got a couple of years on me.

Based on this post on X with it being SB 60, he's how old watching this game? Just one more reason we see ...

FWIW, I don't believe a word except he's skipping football to watch and olympic sport.

I bet he didn’t miss the halftime show. Probably cried.

Bezos doesn’t know what the shit he’s doing when it comes to news of any kind, he just buys shit then as just about everybody thought that paper has gone to shit.

Financially, the paper was "shit" when he purchased it several years ago. Hence the reference to the Graham family who owned the paper during its heyday and sold it to Bezoz.

What you missed about my post, and I didn't spell it out clearly, is what his intent was in the first place. It's the same as the NYT. Eliminate, go digital.

If we take Bezos and his purchase out of the picture, the Graham family is still holding a newspaper that is in severe decline. Those pointing the finger at Bezos for the situation the WaPo is currently in are missing the boat. Hell, landlocked.

There's one model of the print media that still has legs. It's not national.
