Youre looking at the original opening line (15).......Its been at 13.5ish since right after open (meaning Ole Miss is getting the majority of money placed)

I don't know the first thing about gambling. Is that good or bad?

Its not really good or bad. It just means that the majority of people who bet on college football games don't think we will beat Ole Piss by 15 points or more. IMO I think they are right. I think they will beat Ole Piss but probably in the same way they did Kentucky.

I just looked and the Hilton, Mirage, Hard Rock and Planet Hollywood have the spread at -13.

They reflect it opened at -13.5...

Out of the 15-16 off shore lines I follow only two of them haven't shown any change.

-13.5 to -13 isn't a lot of movement...

While I NEVER bet on Bama, if I was going to this week I'd take them and the points.

They set the spread higher than what it should be so they could get money flowing in on it. The spread doesnt necessarily reflect the real amount of points they are favored by, or the score for that matter. They just try to get enough money on each side to even out.

Did you mean by 'them' that you would bet Ole Miss and take the points or bet on Alabama and give the points?

There are no points to 'take' betting on Alabama.

Since a game my Sophomore year I REFUSE to wager on Alabama to cover any point spread.

My Freshman year we beat Vandy in Nashville 66-3 and the following year when Vandy came to Tuscaloosa Alabama was a 40-point favorite.

I figured this was easy money. So I bet MORE cash than a semester tuition at the time on the game.

With less than a minute to go in the game Alabama had the ball with a 34-0 lead - and the ninth string in the game running a FB dive out of the Wishbone every play.

When the ball was marked for play after what seemed like the two-hundreth such play, there was only 20 seconds or so remaining in the game. Thus, no further play was necessary to run out the clock. All the UA coaches began to remove their headsets and those on the sideline began to walk out on the field.

To the surprise of EVERYONE in the stadium, a rarely used QB decided this might be his last chance to ever play so he called a play on his own and hustled the team to the line. The coaches and players on the sideline had to hustle off the field when they saw we were about to run a play.

The play called was not the FB dive, but the actual triple option. With the FB taken, the QB pulled the ball and hit the corner with only a single Vandy DB in the area. The DB took the QB, the QB pitched the ball to the trailing HB who ran untouched down the sideline for a TD.

Time remaining on the clock: 0:00.

There was a rule at the time that a team HAD to kick the PAT after any TD, regardless of how meaningless the single point might be. Out trots the PAT kicker, who had made about 70 in-a-row, and he nails it right down the middle.

Final score: Alabama 41, Vandy 0. Point spread covered by a single point.

In the stands: An elated me jumping up and down spilling my nearly full cup of straight bourbon knowing that I would not have to drop out of school to pay off my gambling debt - or have to recover from two broken knees compliments of my bookie.

Won, and lost, many a wager since. But NONE ever involved a UA football team. My heart and my wallet consider that an unholy affair.

If I rememebr correctly Vegas loses more money on Alabama than almost any team in the country.

Vegas doenst lose money

Bama may be a team that has the most action laid week in and week out

I predict Bama by 17.

Just the game number LBS (nothing)

If your in Vegas you would walk up to the window and say id like $100 on #336 (instead of alabama)
