While watching the FSU series I commented that I'd seen the pitcher toss his cookies and then get back to business on the mound. It was a little warm, the humidity was up there...happens when you aren't used to the climate, ya know? Of course that made me think of Tuscaloosa and the afternoon game(s) and as you can see I'm still thinking about how it might affect the game.

Pitchers?

O'leary has been the main guy, the Friday guy, for St. John's this season. I assume we'll see him Saturday night. Next in line is Chaffee. If things go as they have, he'll be on the mound in the middle of the afternoon for game two.

So...who is this fella, Evan Chaffee?

Knew he was their #2 guy, but didn't know he was the puker that was referred to the other day. I never say that game vs. FSU or the clip. They've been in town this week practicing at a local HS... I hope Evan stepped up and made sure they ate at the better local BBQ places... and not Full Moon and Jim n Nicks.

I didn't mean to imply it was him. I was trying to supply a little context for a meaningless observation.

It's one of those "just my luck" things when you're hoping a guy will have a hard time with the heat only to find out he used to play in Tuscaloosa.

The weather is a good sub-plot to the series. I have no idea what spring ball was like for them. It's NY. I can guess. No idea about their facilities. I haven't looked yet. I know they played all their Feb. ball in warm climate weather (FL, AZ.) They didn't start winning until March rolled around.

I feel like it needs to be big bat Bama series. They're good on defense.
