Touched on, but only slightly, is what this UK team has opened with in terms of players versus last year.
Yesterday, a new member posted a youtube video of their win vs LSU last year with the note, "this isn't your daddy's Kentucky."
Since he brought that up I decided to consider who was "my daddy's Kentucky" and I realized it was the type of team that was winning Sugar Bowl's. That is, until they decided to cross an Alabama guy who decided to leave the blue grass state for the desert like atmosphere of Texas.
But...
That youtube was the '07 Kentucky, and this isn't the '07 Kentucky team.
Their offense returns two players who "contributed last year." A team, which feature a good offense starts practically from scratch.
On defense, we hold a signficant edge with our DL versus their OL and our LB's.
I give UK a slight edge, ever so slight, when it comes to the defensive backfield. They do have game type experience versus a very young, but good, Alabama group.
Rich Brooks? The guy is good on special teams. Period.
It's one area the team was working on yesterday and will need to improve on in this game.
In this game I see us stopping their run while putting this game in Mike Hartline's hands. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it won't be Hartline, but Flatline by the final gun Saturday.
