Why do people thin Texas Tech should be ranked higher than Bama

It is nice to be #1, but why in the world would Texas Tech jump Penn State or Alabama because they beat Texas. One game does not a champion make. Really, we are talking about Texas Tech compared to Penn State coached by Joe Paterno (forget their schedule) and Alabama coached by Nick Saban. You are talking about two programs that have won NC's coached by coaches that have also won NC's being jumped by a team that beat a team the experts claimed to be the best team in the nation. There are a few teams with that claim this year already. This is nothing more than wasted ink or webspace however you wish to look at it. Nothing against Texas Tech, the win was impressive continue and you will earn your spot to play for it all. Same is true for Bama and Penn State.

The way this guy frames his argument against Alabama being ranked #1, he apparently thinks that only the most recent game should have any bearing on national rankings.

i remember the last time we played the mighty offensive juggernaut Texas Techies. They were supposed to score all these points and run up the numbers like they had the rest of the year....

they scored ten measly points and if i remember correctly, a long kick return of some sort was the only reason they got a single stinking touchdown.

I remember when I was a kid, that anytime we had a good sized pile of dirt anywhere we played a game called "King of the Mountain". You took your place on top and were king until another kid, or a collection of kids, pushed you off.

If you're playing King of the Mountain, texas Tech should be #1. In the real world, they've got work to do. If they win their next two they would have a pretty good claim.

i think it was nice that we made 2 out the five. the doesn't know what he is talking about. I know that i might get some backlash but I really don't think they even deserve the #2 spot. I think Penn State should be #2. But how cool would it be 20 years later to have BAMA vs PENN STATE in the nc game.(would be cooler if was the sugar bowl but the orange is still good.)
