Do you all realize that he has coached against Dubose, Franchione, Shula and Saban! Our coaching merry-go-round and the talent drop off have made him a hero amongst the barners. Fairy tale is OVER! ;flame *barner
Tubbs better get ready for a tough physical game! I know Saban gets the team up in his own way, but IMHO this team has never beat AU, and they know what is at stake, it's way more than bragging rights, and they will be ready!RTR!!!!!
The fact of the matter is this. From what I have been told, the better team usually wins. All that they say about throwing out the record book and blah blah blah really doesn't hold true. Emotion will only really take you through about one quarter before talent begins to trump it. Now that being said, there have been games that the better team did not win.
A good example of that would be the 1972 game where we punted ourselves into oblivion and Cows won. Or in 1997 when we threw the screen pass that Dubose didn't know was called. We have controlled that game pretty much and should have won it but we didn't. In 2002, we should have won if Franphoney wasn't so busy packing for his trip to College Station. We also should have never lost to ULM or to MSU 2 years strait.
My point is this, you let these two teams play each other 100 times and I would be willing to bet that we would win 99 of them. Its the one time where we make a dumb error or we come out too confident that I worry about.
Absolutely! This is the same attitude that set Saban off before MSU. People talking about Auburn and Florida. There is still a game to play! And the Aubies will be ready. The Tide will have to hit them in the mouth early and hope that their emotion wears off quick.

Here are the times i can remember when the favored team did NOT win:
2005 Was Bama actually favored?
2002
2001
1997? I cant remember who was favored as both teams weren't that good.
1989
1985
Im sure there are more, but that is as far back as i can personally remember. But from looking at it, the team having the best year usually win.
Let me go ahead and say, Im NOT calling this years game a win. The game still has to be played on the field and Auburn will bring their best effort to win.
We didnt play them for a long time and the series was finally reopened in 1948—Alabama crushing the Tigers 55–0, which is still the largest margin of victory in the series. I hope Bama beats them 56-0 this year setting a new record
