Arenas' big showing in the scrimmage was just one in a spring where he's turned heads from the beginning. So far at least, the junior from Tampa, Fla., appears to be the odds-on favorite to replace the departed Simeon Castille at left cornerback.

"He's done a nice job," Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "He's got really good quickness and he's covered well and he's got a better understanding of the scheme playing both positions. He's had a really good spring so far."

I would love to see Arenas at the CB position come fall. If he is improving as much as I'm hearing, he'll be a good replacement for Simeon. His only problem last season is that he looked like he didn't know the schemes. Sometimes he often looked lost in coverage. Hopefully by fall he'll have the spot locked up.

He spoke about that very thing( learning the d and falling into zones) in an interview and hope he continues to improve.
