Exactly, BamaFan19. When I first saw the photo from the Georgia game, I kind of passed over it and clicked on to the next one. Then when I was finished with the slideshow, the image of that photo kept coming back to me.
I went back to it and studied it and just thought about what makes this type of intimacy between a coach and a player possible. What it means to have that with another person, that strong type of trust and respect.
As I said, all teams and fans should be much more afraid of this than any 5 star player we may or may not get. Athletic ability is a key factor in performance, but a bond like the one we see in the picture among a team and it's coaches is what will beat them.
As you allude to, it isn't just about fear of coaches being angry with you that will make a player live up to his ability, that is a small part of it.
But, a desire to not let a coach down, to not disappoint him, should be frightening for other teams.
