The majority of the time those fees are paid by the vendor; granted, I'll assume some build that into the cost.

One of the reasons a lot of vendors didn't accept AmEx was their rate. As I recall, the last time I looked at the numbers, AmEx wanted three percent of the transaction, Visa and MC half of that.

I think visa and mc are at 2.3 to 2.5% I believe. Depending on the service. It could have changed again not really sure. I know that’s what I payed like a year or so ago.
Mines all direct dep now. I pay like a $7 fee per transaction. $7 on $10-15,000 transactions is freakin gravy!!!
