I was thinking the other day what good is a contract on a coach, other than finiancial terms (buyout clauses and incentives).  I would think something needs to be done to keep these guys from up and running out on signed contracts, esp. when a school has given a pay raise and extension a year earlier.  Maybe have something in the contract that is another instution comes calling, the AD can turn them down at least for the first 3 years of a new deal, and make the agents pay a most  of the buyout clause if he shops his client around for an open coaching position.
