The Resident College Football Expert noticed last week that despite the fact that we are only two weeks in on another fantastic college football season, analysts are already pooping their pants over the potential Cinderellas. The Expert cautions you, his faithful and adoring fans, not to fall in love too quickly with the underdogs.

Upsets happen each and every week. That’s just the nature of the game. Forces outside of just talent and coaching sometimes effect the outcome of a game. The biggest reason for early season upsets, however, is the fact that several teams are overrated. Most television analysts just don’t seem to comprehend that it is possible for a team to graduate a lot of talent and not be as good as they were the previous season.

A quick side note, while we are talking about analysts, who was the genius that decided to put Jesse Palmer on TV? Just because he’s pretty, does that mean he makes good TV? The Expert supposes that the fact he is as boring as watching paint dry and as dumb as a bag of rocks does not effect his ability to be a good analyst, evidentially.

Jesse Palmer....what is it about those Florida QB's?

I don't mind him so much in studio, but listening to him call a game is just torture.

Good stuff, but USC 55 OSU 6?!? He is the expert, so who the hell am I to disagree? :) BTW, I hope he is right.

I'd rather they figure out a way that both teams could lose by 75 points. :D

Actually I hope OSU wins

and gets completely embarrassed, AGAIN, by the SEC team of your choice! Hopefully it will sink in that they are not a great team. That said a 42 - 3 butt whoopin would be OK too. I just don't want a close win for USC.

I don't think the USC/Ohio St. game will be a blowout like most think. I predict a USC win but by 14 or less points. Losing Wells for the game is a huge blow but I think they have a weapon in Pryor that USC won't be prepared for. USC doesn't play well against mobile QB's, they lost to Oregon last year with Dennis Dixon at QB. Some of you guys may remember a Rose Bowl a few years ago were Vince Young ran all over them, and Pryor is a spitting image of V. Young. I'm not saying Pryor will put up the same results as Vince but he will be a factor. Ohio St.'s defense will have to play the game of their lives to pull off this one. USC 38 Ohio St. 28

I think we're in the minority here, but something just doesn't feel right about this one, to me. On paper, USC should win convincingly, but I just can't predict a blowout at this point, for whatever reason. I'm just feeling something, and maybe it's gout, but something doesn't feel right about this one.

This has the feel of Bama vs Miami in 92. Granted, we went in with a full stable, but no one gave us a chance to win. Now we're looking at a USC team expected to win big.

I'm just not comfortable picking USC in a blowout here.
